Is the Broadway Magic Hour appropriate for children?

Yes. The Broadway Magic Hour is family-oriented and suitable for children 5 and older. It’s a fun, warm, interactive experience, with no loud scares or intense scenes. Kids are encouraged to participate in the show, and it is routinely cited by parents as a fun, hilarious, and exciting experience for young audience members.

How long is the show?

The show runs about 60 minutes without intermission. The 1-hour duration of the show is perfect for families with kids and teens. The show length gives everyone the feeling of having seen a full and satisfying show, without going on too long. It’s the perfect length of time to slot into a packed day out in New York City. And for many guests, the show serves as a companion to their dinner, or a nearby attraction.

Where in NYC is the Broadway Magic Hour located?

The Broadway Magic Hour is located at 318 W 53rd Street between 8th and 9th Avenues in Midtown Manhattan. It is just minutes from Times Square and Central Park where dozens of family-focused eateries can be found, and quickly accessible from the subway, taxi, or rideshare.

How do I buy tickets?

You can reserve tickets online on the official website https://broadwaymagichour.com/tickets. Weekend performances and holiday shows usually sell out, so reserve your tickets online ahead of time. After you book, you will receive a confirmation email with your arrival information, so you'll have everything you’ll need for your family to enjoy the show.

What ages or age ranges enjoy the Broadway Magic Hour most?

The Broadway Magic Hour is for the whole family: Kids ages 5 to 12 love the show of course, but teens, parents, and grandparents thoroughly enjoy the show too. The show is designed so that kids, teens, and adults all follow the illusions, comedy, and surprises together. The pacing of the 60-minute show suits mixed-age families.

Is the show interactive? Or do we sit and watch?

This magic show is highly interactive. Numerous children get called up from the audience to perform with the magicians on stage. Audience members are invited to participate throughout the show right from where they sit, as well. Participation is always optional and family-friendly.

Is the Broadway Magic Hour recommended for first-time visitors to NYC?

Absolutely. The Broadway Magic Hour is great for a family that’s just arriving to New York City for the first time as it’s an easy one-hour experience in the middle of Manhattan! The show slots nicely into any itinerary plan, appeals to a wide variety of people, and offers a unique moment in time for the whole family to look back on and remember together long after the trip is over.

How does seating work?

All seating is General Admission. Seating is first come, first served. The venue opens 45 minutes before showtime, and seating begins 30 minutes before showtime. The show often sells out and the room is large, so arriving early is recommended.

Does the show ever run longer than an hour?

We aim for the show to be 1 hour in length. Seating begins 30 minutes before showtime, and guests often stay a few minutes after the show to meet the performers. Therefore, considering the recommended early arrival time plus optionally staying a few minutes after to meet or take photos with the performers, the total amount of time you need for this experience is approximately 2 hours. Because the show involves audience participation, the show is never exactly the same, so the exact length of the show may sometimes run slightly longer than 1 hour -- but never more than 75 minutes.

Does the show start on time?

We make every effort to have the show start promptly at the times listed.  The venue has a very active schedule with multiple shows every day, so we do our part to keep things running smoothly at the venue by starting our show on time.

Can we bring kids who are under age 5?

The show is an all-ages family friendly show. It's appropriate for anyone ages 5 - 105. Some kids younger than 5 enjoy the show, but we have found that for maximum comprehension of what is going on in the show, age 5 is about the youngest age. You may bring kids along who are younger if you like, but keep in mind that they might not fully understand the show.
